Washing Lycra:

Machine Wash (Gentle Cycle)
Always wash Lycra items on a gentle cycle using cold water (30°C or 86°F) to preserve the elasticity and prevent any damage from heat.
Use a mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners, as these can degrade the fibers and elasticity of Lycra.
Hand Wash (Recommended for Delicate Garments)
If the item is very delicate or has embellishments (such as sequins, beads, or zippers), hand washing is preferred. Gently wash in cold water using a mild detergent.

Drying Lycra:

Air Dry (Best Practice)
Do not tumble dry Lycra garments as heat can break down the elastic fibers, causing the fabric to lose its shape.
Lay the garment flat or hang to dry in a shaded area. Avoid direct sunlight, as UV rays can cause the fabric to fade.
Avoid Heat Exposure
Never wring or twist Lycra to remove excess water, as this can distort the fabric.
When hanging to dry, use padded hangers to prevent stretching or misshaping.

Ironing Lycra:

Do not iron Lycra directly. If necessary, iron on a low setting with a cloth between the iron and the fabric to prevent direct heat exposure.
Steam ironing may be used cautiously to remove wrinkles. Never press the iron directly onto the Lycra fabric.


Storing Lycra Garments:

Avoid Prolonged Sunlight
Store Lycra garments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Use Breathable Storage Bags
For long-term storage, consider using a breathable garment bag (preferably cotton or mesh) to keep the fabric from becoming crushed or stretched.
Avoid Hanging for Long Periods
If possible, avoid hanging Lycra garments for extended periods, as this can cause them to stretch out of shape. Folding is often a better option for delicate items.
